The Yellow Strawberry Guava (Psidium cattleianum f. lucidum), also known as the Lemon Guava or Yellow Cattley Guava, is the golden-skinned cousin of the Red Strawberry Guava. While they belong to the same species, the Yellow variety is often preferred by home gardeners for its slightly larger fruit and distinct, zesty flavor profile.

1. Physical Characteristics
Fruit Size: Slightly larger than the Red variety, typically ranging from the size of a large marble to a walnut (approx. 3–5 cm).

Skin: The skin is smooth, thin, and turns a bright, waxy lemon-yellow when fully ripe. Unlike common guavas, the skin lacks any bitterness and is very pleasant to eat.

Flesh: The interior pulp is translucent white, extremely juicy, and soft. It has a shimmering, jelly-like appearance.

Seeds: It contains several small, hard, yellowish seeds. They are edible but very firm; most people either swallow them whole or remove them when processing for juice or jam.

2. Flavor & Aroma
Taste: This is where it shines. It tastes like a blend of sweet guava, passion fruit, and lemon. It is notably more "zippy" and acidic than the Red Strawberry Guava, offering a bright, tropical tang that balances its high sugar content.

Aroma: It has a very strong, pleasant fragrance—a mix of floral notes and citrus. A tree in full fruit can be smelled from a distance.

Texture: The flesh is melting and succulent, similar to a very ripe plum or a grape.
