Variegated Mango Grafted Hybrid Plant

TA Variegated Mango is a rare and striking cultivar of Mangifera indica, primarily prized for its ornamental beauty. Unlike standard mango trees with solid green foliage, this variety features multi-colored leaves and, in some cases, bi-colored fruit. It is often a Thai variety (such as the Chalta Khas) or a mutation of common cultivars like Irwin or Matuda.

1. Visual Appearance
Foliage: The most distinctive feature. The leaves are typically green with creamy-white or pale-yellow streaks and patches. In some varieties, young flushes may emerge with pinkish or bronze tints before the variegation becomes prominent.

Fruit Skin: The fruit often mirrors the tree's variegation. Young mangoes may show green and yellow stripes; as they ripen, they usually turn a golden-yellow, sometimes retaining subtle green marbling or developing a reddish-pink blush if exposed to direct sun.

Tree Form: Typically grown as a grafted specimen, it reaches a height of 15–20 feet in the ground but is often kept as a dwarf (4–6 feet) for patio containers.

2. Flavor and Texture
Despite its exotic look, the fruit quality remains high and comparable to premium dessert mangoes:

Taste: A rich, tropical sweetness balanced with a slight tang. It is highly aromatic.

Texture: The flesh is usually deep yellow to orange, juicy, and largely fiberless, offering a "melt-in-your-mouth" consistency.

Size: Medium-sized fruits, typically weighing between 150g and 250g.

3. Growth and Care
The Variegated Mango is slightly more delicate than standard varieties because the white/yellow parts of the leaves contain less chlorophyll, making the tree a bit slower-growing.
