Thai 5 Super Kiran Guava- KG 5 Hybrid Air Layered Plant

The Thai Super Kiran (often referred to simply as Super Kiran or Thai 5) is a high-performing hybrid variety that combines the best traits of Thai jumbo guavas with the sweetness of premium Indian cultivars. It is particularly popular in India and Southeast Asia for its high yield and adaptability to both farm and garden settings.

There is occasionally some confusion in naming, as it is sometimes marketed with a white-fleshed profile (similar to Thai 7) and other times as a pink-fleshed hybrid (incorporating Arka Kiran genetics). Most commonly in the commercial nursery trade, it is recognized for the following traits:

1. Physical Characteristics
Fruit Size: Large to very large. Fruits typically weigh between 300g and 600g, though with proper thinning and nutrition, they can reach up to 800g–1kg.

Skin: The skin is light green, transitioning to a pale, creamy yellow when fully ripe. It is relatively smooth with very fine "pebbles" and is thin enough to be eaten without peeling.

Flesh: The interior is typically thick and creamy white (though some sub-variants under this name are pink-fleshed). It has a very small, compact seed cavity, providing a high percentage of edible pulp.

Seeds: It is known for having very few, soft seeds that are easily chewable, bordering on "semi-seedless" status.

2. Flavor & Texture
Texture: This variety sits perfectly between the "crunchy" and "soft" types. It has a crisp, apple-like bite when slightly under-ripe but becomes buttery and melting when fully ripe.

Taste: It is highly sweet with a clean, tropical finish. It lacks the intense musky "guava smell" that some find overpowering, offering a more refined, floral sweetness instead.
