The Pairi Mango (also known as Payari or Amrut Payari) is a beloved Indian variety, primarily grown in the coastal Konkan region of Maharashtra, as well as parts of Gujarat and Karnataka. Often hailed as the "Queen of Mangoes" for its fragrance, it is the quintessential choice for making Aamras.

🥭 Flavor and Texture Profile
Taste: It offers a unique "honey-like" sweetness balanced with a distinct citrusy tang. Many enthusiasts describe its flavor as a blend of apricot and peach.

Texture: Unlike the creamy, fiberless Alphonso, the Pairi is highly juicy and slightly fibrous. It has a very thin skin and soft pulp, which makes it feel almost like a bag of juice when fully ripe.

Aroma: It is one of the most fragrant mangoes, with a strong, spicy-sweet floral scent that can fill an entire room.

🔍 How to Identify a Pairi Mango
Identifying a Pairi can be tricky because it is often sold alongside the Alphonso. Look for these specific traits:

The "Beak": It typically has a small, prominent "nose" or beak-like protrusion at the bottom of the fruit.

Color: The skin is usually greenish-yellow when ripe. If it grows on the side of the tree facing the sun, it may develop a beautiful reddish-tinge or blush (often called Suraj Mukhi Pairi).

Shape: It is generally more oval and slightly smaller than an Alphonso.
