Osteen Mango Grafted Hybrid Plant

The Osteen mango is a premium commercial cultivar celebrated for its striking purple-red appearance and nearly fiberless flesh. While it originated in Florida, it has become the most widely grown mango variety in Spain and is a favorite in European markets.

Physical Appearance
Shape: Elegant and elongated (oblong/ovoid) with a slightly curved base. It often features a small "beak" at the apex.

Skin: Smooth and thick. When ripe, it typically transitions from a pale green/yellow background to a dramatic deep purple-red blush.

Size: A relatively large mango, typically weighing between 400g and 700g (roughly 1 to 1.5 lbs), though some can reach up to 1kg.

Inside: The flesh is a vibrant lemon-yellow to mustard-yellow.

Flavor and Texture
Taste: Exceptionally sweet and aromatic with a mild, tropical fragrance. It is often described as having a better flavor profile than more common varieties like Kent or Keitt.

Texture: The pulp is creamy and succulent. It is known for being nearly fiberless, making it easy to slice and pleasant to eat.

Seed: It contains a thin, monoembryonic stone, which means there is a high ratio of edible flesh to seed.
