Soil (Terroir): The fruit's unique taste is attributed to the region’s black clay soil and its hot, sub-humid tropical climate.
Origin: Interestingly, it isn't native to Nagpur; it was brought from Aurangabad in the 18th century by the Bhonsle dynasty and flourished in the local environment.
