Miyazaki Mango Grafted Hybrid Plant

The Miyazaki Mango, famously known as the "Egg of the Sun" (Taiyo-no-Tamago), is widely considered the most expensive and luxurious mango variety in the world. Originally developed in Japan’s Miyazaki Prefecture, it is prized more for its "perfection" and craftsmanship than just its taste.

🎨 Physical Appearance
Unlike typical yellow or green mangoes, the Miyazaki mango is defined by its striking, jewel-like aesthetic:

Skin Color: A vibrant, deep ruby-red to crimson hue (hence the "Egg of the Sun" name). This color is achieved through maximum sunlight exposure.

Shape: A near-perfect, uniform oval.

Weight: To be certified as top-grade, a single mango must weigh at least 350 grams.

🍯 Flavor and Texture
The eating experience is often described as "meltingly sweet" and buttery:

Sugar Content: They have a high Brix (sugar) level of at least 15%, significantly higher than standard varieties.

Texture: The flesh is a deep golden-orange, incredibly juicy, and almost entirely fiberless, giving it a melt-in-the-mouth consistency.

Aroma: It has a rich, floral, and intensely tropical fragrance.

🛠️ The "Art" of Cultivation
The high price tag comes from the extreme labor-intensive methods used to grow them:

Greenhouse Growing: They are grown in strictly temperature-controlled environments.

Individual Netting: Each mango is suspended by a string and wrapped in a net. Instead of being picked, the fruit is allowed to ripen fully on the tree until it naturally falls into the net.

Reflectors: Farmers place mirrors underneath the hanging fruit to ensure sunlight reaches every part of the skin, creating that even red color.
