The Langra mango (also known as Banarasi Langra or Malda) is one of the most prestigious and flavorful mango varieties from the Indian subcontinent. Originating in Varanasi (Banaras), Uttar Pradesh about 250–300 years ago, it is often nicknamed the "King of Mangoes" in Northern India for its unmatched sweetness and aroma.

Physical Appearance
Skin Color: Uniquely, the Langra remains vibrant green or lime-green even when fully ripe. It may develop a slight yellowish tinge or brownish spots when overripe.

Shape: It is typically ovate (egg-shaped) to slightly oblong.

Size: Medium to large, generally weighing between 250g and 450g.

Pulp: The flesh is a deep lemon-yellow or golden color. It is highly prized for being almost entirely fiberless.
