1. Appearance and Physical Traits
Size: Medium-sized, typically weighing between 200g and 250g.

Shape: It has an oblong, symmetrical shape.

Skin: The name Malcor ado was given by the Portuguese, meaning "poor colored," because the skin often looks a bit dull or blotchy compared to the bright yellow of an Alphonso. However, it ripens into a warm yellow-green with a slight orange tint.

Seed: It is famous for having a very small, flat stone, which means you get a much higher ratio of fruit pulp compared to other varieties.

2. Flavor and Texture
Taste Profile: It is known for an intense, balanced sweetness with very little acidity. It has a complex flavor profile with notes often described as honeyed or slightly caramel-like.

Texture: The flesh is entirely fibreless, smooth, and firm yet juicy. It provides a "melt-in-the-mouth" experience that makes it the ultimate "table mango" (eaten fresh).

Aroma: It possesses a rich, tropical fragrance that can fill an entire room once the fruit is fully ripe.

3. Seasonality and Cultivation
Peak Season: It is one of the earliest varieties to hit the market, usually appearing in late March or early April and lasting through May.

Scarcity and Price: Because it is highly sought after and has a relatively short shelf life, early-season Mankuri mangoes can command astronomical prices in Goan markets, often sold by the dozen rather than by weight.

Best Variation: The Cardozo Mankuri is a specific selection of this variety (originated from a tree in Mapusa) that is prized for being even larger, more colorful, and having an improved shelf life of up to 8–10 days.
