Average Dimensions: True to its name, this fruit is massive compared to standard varieties. It easily reaches the size of a grapefruit, ranging from 8 to 15 cm (3 to 6 inches) in diameter.

Shape: Predominantly round or oval, though some can take on a broad, blocky pear-like shape.

Weight: While a standard guava weighs around 150g, a Giant Red Guava typically weighs between 300g and 800g (some monster fruits on well-maintained trees can even push toward the 1 kg mark!).

Texture
Outer Skin: The skin is relatively thick, waxy, and can range from perfectly smooth to heavily bumpy or ridged, providing a good protective barrier for the heavy fruit.

Flesh/Pulp: This variety has a fantastic dual texture. The outer layer of the flesh is thick, dense, and has a satisfying, crisp crunch when bitten. As you move toward the center, the texture becomes incredibly juicy, soft, and somewhat creamy.

Central Core: It features a centralized, softer pulp cavity. While it does contain seeds, many premium giant red cultivars (like the 'Red Diamond') are specifically bred to have far fewer and softer seeds than wild guavas, making them much easier to eat.

Colour
Exterior (Skin): Starts as a deep, rich green. As it matures and ripens on the tree, it transitions to a light yellowish-green or a soft, warm yellow. Some specific sub-varieties will even develop a beautiful maroon or pinkish blush where the sun hits the skin.

Interior (Flesh): The defining feature! Slicing it open reveals a vibrant, stunning deep pink to bright salmon-red interior.
