Usage & Storage

Aamras: It is the primary choice for making fresh mango pulp and juice due to its high liquid content.

Freezing: Because the season is short, many people extract the pulp and freeze it to enjoy during weddings and festivals throughout the year.

Ripening: Store them at room temperature in a hay box or paper bag. They are ready when they feel very soft to the touch and emit a strong, sweet fragrance.

Chinna vs. Pedda vs. Cheruku Rasalu

Chinna Rasalu: The smallest, but often considered the most flavorful and "king" of the juice varieties.

Pedda Rasalu: Larger (290–510g) with a similar juicy profile but slightly different sweetness-to-tang ratio.

Cheruku Rasalu: "Cheruku" means sugarcane; this variety is exceptionally sweet, often even sweeter than Chinna Rasalu, but slightly less common.
