Black Kasturi Mango Aam Grafted Healthy Fruit Plant

The most famous feature of this mango is its skin. While it starts out green, it matures into a deep purple to near-black color with a shiny, polished finish. The fruits are relatively small compared to commercial varieties, typically weighing between 50 to 100 grams (roughly the size of a large plum).

The name "Kasturi" refers to musk, a nod to the fruit's incredibly powerful and pleasant aroma. Even before you cut it open, a ripe Black Kasturi can fill a room with a complex, floral, and musky scent that many enthusiasts prefer over the standard mango smell.

When sliced, the dark skin provides a beautiful contrast to the bright orange-yellow flesh. The flavor is an intense, concentrated sweetness with a hint of tartness. Many describe the taste as a "wild" tropical blend—similar to a mix of honey, passionfruit, and lychee.

Unlike the buttery texture of a BARI 4 or Alphonso, the Black Kasturi is known for having noticeable fiber and a juicier, more "stringy" pulp. However, because the flavor is so concentrated, the fiber is often overlooked by collectors and connoisseurs who eat it fresh or use it for high-end jams.
