The Anwar Ratol (also spelled Anwar Rataul) is a highly prized mango variety celebrated for its intense sweetness and rich, floral aroma. Often referred to as the "mini powerhouse" of mangoes, it is famous for being small in size but packed with flavor.

Physical Characteristics
Size: Small to medium (typically weighing 200–250 grams).

Shape: Ovate-oblong with a rounded base and no distinct "beak."

Color: When ripe, the skin is a vibrant lemon or golden yellow, sometimes with light green patches.

Texture: The flesh is smooth, buttery, and completely fiberless, making it a "melt-in-your-mouth" experience.

Flavor and Aroma
Taste Profile: It is known for its extreme sweetness (Brix levels often reaching 24–26), balanced with a hint of citrus or floral undertones.

Fragrance: It has a powerful, captivating aroma that is often described as a mix of honey and tropical flowers.

History and Origin
Roots: The variety originated in the village of Rataul in the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Naming: It was first cultivated in the early 20th century (around 1905) by Sheikh Mohd Afaq Faridi, who named it after his father, Anwar.

Cross-Border Legacy: Following the partition in 1947, saplings were taken to the Multan region of Pakistan. It flourished there and became a national favorite. Today, it is grown extensively in both the Punjab regions of India and Pakistan.

Seasonal Variations
There are two distinct bursts of this mango during the summer:

Early Season (May–June): These are thin-skinned, extremely sweet, and fragile. They are the most popular but have a very short harvest window.

Late Season (July–August): These have a thicker skin and a slightly more stable structure, though they are often considered less sweet than the early variety.
