Shape: They are generally round, oval, or distinctly pear-shaped.

Weight: A standard fruit usually weighs between 100g to 300g. In the wild, sizes can vary greatly depending on rainfall and soil nutrients, while cultivated Amazonian varieties can sometimes grow quite large.

Texture
Outer Skin: The skin is thin, edible, and can be relatively smooth or slightly bumpy.

Flesh/Pulp: Red guavas are generally softer, juicier, and more pulpy than their white counterparts. While they retain a slight outer crispness when just underripe, a fully ripe Amazon red guava has a smooth, almost creamy, jam-like consistency.

Central Core: The central cavity is incredibly soft, gelatinous, and densely packed with small, hard, yellowish-white seeds. Like most guavas, there is a very slight, pleasant grittiness to the flesh caused by natural stone cells.

Colour
Exterior (Skin): Starts as a deep, bright green. As it ripens under the tropical sun, the skin turns a light green to a soft, golden yellow. Some specific Amazonian phenotypes can even develop a gorgeous red or maroon blush on the outside.

Interior (Flesh): The true showstopper. Slicing it open reveals a brilliant, deep salmon pink to a rich, dark ruby red flesh. This deep red color comes from a high concentration of carotenoids (like lycopene), the same natural antioxidant found in tomatoes.
