Seedless Sweet Green Round Sugraone Variety Air Layered Grapes Plant

The Sugraone (frequently marketed under the brand name Superior Seedless®) is one of the most widely grown green seedless grapes in the world. It is the industry standard for a high-quality, early-season green grape and is often the first variety to hit the shelves in early summer.

Physical Appearance
Shape: Primarily round to slightly ovoid (egg-shaped). It is noticeably fuller and more spherical than the elongated Thompson Seedless.

Color: A vibrant, light "bright green" that can lean toward a creamy yellow-green when fully ripe.

Berry Size: Generally large and uniform, usually measuring at least 19mm in diameter.

Skin: Thin but firm, with a smooth surface that often features a light, waxy "bloom."

Taste and Texture
Flavor: It has a clean, sweet-neutral flavor. When perfectly ripe, it carries a very subtle hint of Muscat (a delicate floral or spicy aroma) that makes it more complex than a standard green grape.

Texture: Its most famous trait is its exceptional crunch. The flesh is very firm and "shatters" or snaps when you bite into it, rather than being soft or mushy.

Juiciness: While meaty and firm, it is moderately juicy, making it a refreshing snack.

Why It Is Popular
Early Season: It ripens several weeks before many other varieties, meaning it is often the best "fresh" option available in early July (Northern Hemisphere) or January (Southern Hemisphere).

Reliability: It is highly resistant to "shattering" (falling off the stem), so clusters stay full and attractive in the grocery store.

Seedless: It is a true seedless variety, though very rarely you might find a tiny, soft "trace" seed that is completely edible.
