The Red Malaysian Guava (often sold under the trade name "Thai Maroon") is unique because it is one of the few guava varieties prized as much for its ornamental beauty as for its fruit.

Unlike the other varieties we've discussed, this tree features striking colorful foliage and flowers, making it a standout in any landscape.

1. Physical Characteristics
Foliage: The most distinctive feature. New leaves emerge a vibrant bronze-red or purple, and even mature leaves maintain a deep, dark green with burgundy undertones.

Flowers: While most guavas have white flowers, the Red Malaysian produces bright pink to magenta blossoms with showy stamens, resembling small bursts of fireworks.

Fruit Skin: The fruit is round to pear-shaped with a deep maroon or dark purple exterior. The skin is slightly bumpy and becomes more colorful the more sun it receives.

Flesh: Inside, the pulp is creamy pink to light red. It is moist, juicy, and contains a central mass of small, hard seeds.

2. Flavor Profile
Taste: The flavor is described as mildly sweet and floral. It is less "sugary" than the Allahabad Safeda or White Diamond, offering a more balanced, refreshing tropical taste.

Aroma: It is highly aromatic, with a classic guava scent that has subtle hints of berry or rose.

Texture: The flesh is smooth and somewhat firmer than the custard-like Mexican Cream, though it softens considerably as it reaches peak ripeness.
