Purple Guava Air Layered Healthy Fruit Plant

1. Purple Malaysian Guava (Psidium guajava)
This is an ornamental and highly sought-after cultivar of the common guava. It is famous because nearly the entire plant—leaves, flowers, and fruit skin—exhibits deep purple and maroon tones.

Size: Medium-sized fruits, typically ranging from 5 to 8 cm (2 to 3 inches) in diameter. They are generally round or slightly pear-shaped.

Texture: The outer skin is smooth and thin. When eaten slightly underripe, it has a crisp, apple-like crunch. As it fully matures, the inner pulp becomes wonderfully soft, creamy, and incredibly juicy. It contains several small, hard seeds at its core.

Colour: * Exterior: A stunning, dark purplish-maroon or deep burgundy skin.

Interior: Slicing it open reveals a gorgeous contrast—a bright, translucent pink to vivid dark-pink pulp.

2. Purple Strawberry Guava (Psidium cattleianum)
Native to Brazil but grown in many subtropical regions, this is a different species entirely. It grows on large shrubs and is often eaten fresh or used for making world-class jams and jellies.

Size: Much smaller than common guavas. They are small, round berries measuring only about 2 to 4 cm (0.8 to 1.5 inches) in diameter—roughly the size of a large cherry or golf ball.

Texture: The skin is very thin, smooth, and entirely edible. The interior is extremely juicy with a jelly-like, melting pulp. It contains a few small, hard, white seeds that can be chewed or swallowed.

Colour:

Exterior: Starts out green and matures into a deep, dark purplish-red or maroon.

Interior: The juicy flesh inside is white to pale yellow, occasionally featuring a light pinkish tint near the skin.
