The Gopal Dhoka Mango is a specialized and somewhat rare variety of mango primarily found in the Bengal region (West Bengal, India, and Bangladesh). It is often discussed in the same breath as the legendary Gopalbhog mango, as it shares several superior qualities, particularly its intense sweetness and rich aroma.

While it is less "famous" than varieties like Himsagar or Langra, it is highly valued by mango connoisseurs for its unique flavor profile.

🥭 Key Characteristics
1. Appearance
Shape: It typically has a round to slightly oval shape, similar to the Gopalbhog variety.

Size: Usually medium-sized, weighing between 200g and 400g.

Skin: The skin is medium-thick and smooth. It transitions from a deep green to a light greenish-yellow as it ripens. Unlike some other varieties, the skin may not turn fully golden, but the internal flesh will be perfectly ripe.

2. Taste & Texture
Flavor: The Gopal Dhoka is prized for its exceptional sweetness (High TSS - Total Soluble Solids). It has a complex, honey-like flavor with a distinct floral aroma that fills the room when the fruit is sliced.

Texture: The flesh is a deep golden-orange color. It is known for being fiberless and firm, providing a "solid" bite (hence the name "Dhoka," which in some contexts refers to a firm block or cake in Bengali cuisine).

Seed: It has a relatively thin stone, allowing for a generous amount of pulp.

3. Harvest Season
Timing: It is generally an early to mid-season variety. In the Bengal region, it typically hits the market in late May to early June, shortly after the first wave of Gopalbhog mangoes.

🌳 Cultivation & Availability
Region: Predominantly grown in the Malda and Murshidabad districts of West Bengal, India, and the Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj regions of Bangladesh.

Tree Habit: The trees are moderately vigorous and known for being consistent bearers when given proper care.

Rarity: Because it has a shorter shelf life compared to commercial giants like the Amrapali, it is often sold locally or through specialty fruit vendors rather than in large international supermarkets.

🍽️ Best Uses
Fresh Eating: This is primarily a "table mango," meant to be sliced and enjoyed fresh to appreciate its aroma.

Desserts: Due to its lack of fiber and high sugar content, it makes an excellent base for traditional Bengali sweets like Aam Doi (Mango Yogurt) or thick mango purees.
